about me

I grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina. My parents were both from a neighboring county, so we had A LOT of family around. I grew up around all of my cousins, I spent time in the frigid (but refreshing) mountain creeks and rivers, and there were lots of picnics and hikes on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway.

I owe all of my creative genes to my Mama. We tagged along to a few Quilting Bees and Craft Shows. She taught us all how to crochet and sew at some point, and my sister and I spent many hours playing with our handmade cabbage patch dolls that she spent so many hours crafting for us. She still makes each grandchild a crocheted Afghan for High School Graduation and recently completed 2 baby blankets for twin Great Grandbabies.

And although I was among her early students of crochet and love to crochet alongside my Mama, crochet is not always where I tend to feel most creative. These days, I find myself creating sweet themes for handmade doll quilts, weaving, and dyeing a variety of fibers over a fire - with repurposed cookpots filled to the brim with bark, plants and blooms from my own backyard.

I hope that you enjoy my site, and find what you were looking for, or maybe something that you fell in love with along the way.
